Air conditioning service checklist.
This is what a typical air conditioning service checklist includes:
- Air filters: Check and clean them, as dirty filters reduce airflow and efficiency.
- Outdoor unit: Clear any debris, leaves, or overgrown plants from around the condenser unit to ensure proper airflow.
- Indoor unit: Clean the evaporator coil and ensure the condensate drain is clear to prevent clogs and water leaks.
- Thermostat: Test that the thermostat is working correctly and is set to the right temperature.
- Airflow: Check that there is a consistent and balanced airflow from all vents. (ducting).
- Refrigerant: Conduct an annual test for refrigerant leaks in accordance with current UK legislation. Ensure any lost refrigerant is captured and not illegally vented.
- Electrical: Inspect all electrical connections for tightness and ensure the wiring is in good condition. Check motor voltage.
- Components: Inspect and lubricate motors and check for wear on drive belts and pulleys.
- Coils and coils: Clean the condenser and evaporator coils and check the fan blades.
- Ductwork: Inspect the ductwork for leaks.
- Controls: Test the operation of all safety controls, fans, and control systems.
